Carlyn Waller-Wicks

I am a music therapist and second year graduate student in the music therapy program and expressive arts therapy certificate program. Since completing my Bachelor’s in Music Therapy through Appalachian State, I have worked as a music therapist with children, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities. Currently, I work at the J. Iverson Riddle Developmental Center in staff development where I lead trainings and groups for professional and direct care staff focusing on topics such as self-care and resiliency. I love group art making, drum circles, song circles, dance circles, and happenings where artists come together to create something ephemeral and unique to that time and place. I believe in the power of the creative process to connect people to themselves and to one another.
