Jason Sivert is a recent graduate from West Liberty University in West Liberty, West Virginia. He received a BM in Music Technology and Music Performance. He was involved in several music ensembles, which included: percussion ensemble, steel band, African drum and dance ensemble, and marching band. He has also been involved with the electronic music ensemble and jazz ensemble. Sivert is a percussionist who is proficient on all the core percussion instruments, as well as steel pan and African and Latin percussion. His primary instructors have included: Dr. Brian Baldauff, Professor Mitchell Greco, and Dr. Matthew Harder. Aside from playing and teaching percussion, Sivert’s skill set also includes composing original music, writing arrangements for music ensembles, as well as recording concerts and performances for the university. Teaching is also a big part of Jason Sivert’s life, and he has taught middle school and high school concert band and marching band, as well as some assistant teaching opportunities for the steel band and fundamental percussion class at West Liberty University.
