Matthew Jones, originally from Northern VA, graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors of Music in 2012 . While there, he studied Music Industry and Classical Guitar Performance under Keith Stevens. Matthew then continued pursuing the Classical Guitar under Dr. Douglas James at Appalachian State University, earning a Masters in Music Performance Degree in 2014.

While studying at ASU, Matthew worked in graduate admissions-first for the Hayes Graduate School of Music, and then for the Cratis D. Williams Graduate School as a whole. During his second year, Matthew's scope increased to Finance and Recruitment. For both years at ASU, Matthew served as Administrative Director for the Annual Appalachian GuitarFest and Solo Guitar Competition.

Matthew now works as an Admissions Counselor for Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, VA. He hopes to gain more experience in higher education and to one day become an Academic Advisor for a College of Music.
