William Selle

Will Selle is the current director of the Appalachian Repertory Orchestra at the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University Orchestras. He also serves as the conductor and Orchestra director at Watauga High School, and Hardin Park Middle School, in Boone NC. Selle's work as director of the WHS Orchestras has strengthened the program in numbers and depth, and his ensembles have recieved Superior Ratings at state Performance Adjudication for the last three consecutive years. In addition to conducting, Selle is a skilled violinist and French horn player, and has performed with the Asheville Symphony, Hendersonville Symphony, Brevard Philharmonia, and has served as the principal 2nd violinist and concertmaster of the Appalachian Philharmonia. Selle is a graduate of UNC-Greensboro, where he studied Instrumental Music Education. He has studied violin with John Fadial, Margery Bagley, and Paul Statsky and has studied conducting with Chung Park, Robert Gutter, Rebecca Macleod, and James Allen Anderson. When not active in music and conducting, Mr. Selle enjoys whitewater kayaking, and cycling with his wife Erin.
