Maddi Dorrill

Maddi Dorrill is a board-certified music therapist originally from Augusta, Georgia, and will be pursuing a Master of Music Therapy degree at Appalachian State University. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from the University of Georgia, in Athens, Georgia, and completed her music therapy internship at Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina. While at UGA, Maddi enjoyed playing horn in a quintet called “The Lunchables,” marching mellophone with the Georgia Redcoat Marching Band, and being a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota. Since graduating, Maddi has served as an Activity Therapist in Georgia’s maximum security forensic facility, working towards and advocating for recovery through the use of creative arts therapies. Through her clinical and professional work, Maddi has developed a passion for mental health, which she is excited to continue to develop at ASU. Maddi loved being a part of her Athens community through music, service, and being a regular at her favorite coffee shop, and she can’t wait to do the same in Boone.
