Quintessential! The Hayes School of Music Graduate Vocal Quintet (4 solo voices + piano)

Auditions are ongoing and prospective applicants will be considered for the 2021-2022 academic year. Compensation of $8,500 per academic year pending budget approval.

QUINTESSENTIAL! is an ensemble of 5 graduate students – soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, baritone/bass-baritone, and pianist – whose assistantship comprises the opportunity of learning, rehearsing, and performing a diverse collection of repertoire on and off campus, both in the community and the surrounding region. vocal and dramatic coaching will be included in the program of study, as well as a concentration on languages and professional career development. In addition to performing some members of Quintessential! teach a voice class whereas others may assist with the opera program or in the administration of the vocal area.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Music degree; evidence of exceptional performance ability; and admission to the Cratis Williams Graduate School at Appalachian State University, as well as acceptance into the Hayes School of Music.
